Welcome to The Kitchen For One! My name is Krystal and I am here to help you break that drive-thru dinner habit and learn to cook for just yourself!
After moving out and entering the adult world, I realized how hard it was to just cook for one person. I grew up in a family of six and that was the quantity of food that I was used to cooking, not to mention that most recipes are built for four to six servings. But I’m just one person and cannot eat the same meal all week! That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and create recipes with one serving so that I could have variety in my diet and not have leftovers for days or weeks. Paring down a recipe that is built for more than one person can be time-consuming and sometimes you cannot divide every ingredient by fours, especially when there is an egg involved.
Have no fear! I am here to take the guess-work out of that list of ingredients and provide recipes that can be cooked in even the smallest of kitchens with a limited amount of tools. So put that apron on, take out that cutting board, and let’s get cooking!
